About Laura

After being introduced to audiobooks while recovering from a minor illness, Laura had an epiphany and realized she could combine passions for acting and literature (she owned a beloved African parrot, named Dean Koontz!), and set a goal to become a narrator. Her years of work within two organizations that served the blind/low vision community provided her with a segue into live and pre-recorded programming opportunities – even a weekly 60-minute live radio news program. She also holds a Certification in Audio Description Services from The American Council of the Blind.  Laura honed her acting techniques through classes at Hartford Stage, Sean Pratt’s Non-Fiction course and all three of Joel Froomkin’s Acting for Audio semesters. She also coaches with Carol Monda and Shannon Parks.

In the world of non-fiction and memoir, Laura has an affinity for fitness, wellness and meditation – a correlation to being in that industry for over 25yrs (she ran the first club in her state to introduce spinning!) as well as volunteer work with Achilles International (an organization that transforms the lives of people with disabilities through athletic programs). In the business world, Laura is experienced with operational management, community outreach, volunteer strategy and event planning.

Laura has a passion for all animals. Especially dogs, from her years working at a guide dog organization, where she became an expert at puppy training & socialization, and the intricacies of the human canine relationship. Lastly, Laura’s fascination with reincarnation has fostered a deep passion for history (especially WW2).

In the world of fiction, Laura’s voice is a strong fit for YA, Children’s lit, and romance (she’s narrated for Pink Flamingo Productions), cozy mysteries and fantasy. She can be relied on to deliver an industry-ready product as Laura is also a skilled engineer and has delivered over 65 full-length postproduction titles for prestigious indie studios.

Although she loves to travel, Laura’s favorite place is home. When not in the booth she can be found outdoors; on her bike, in her kayak, or hiking with her doggos. She is also the mother of two incredible human beans.

Mindfulness meditation keeps her sane. Chocolate makes her smile.
